RN - Surgical/Orthopedics

Location: Idaho Falls Idaho

Description: Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is presently looking of RN - Surgical/Orthopedics right now, this job will be placed in Idaho. Plans and coordinates care. Performs treatments, procedures, and administ! ers medication within Idaho State practice guidelines. Educates patients and families about treatments and discharge instructions. Follows up with associates, other departments, physicians, and others as necessary.

Charge Nurse

: Assist Director and Clinical Supervisor in tasks and assigned duties. Make caregiver assignments according to needs and patient load, as well as available staff. Coordinates with the Director and Clinical Supervisor all aspects of department functions as needed. Assist with clinical care to patients as necessary. Assures that doctor̢۪s orders are followed and communicated to the care giver in a timely manner. Checks crash cart and refrigerator temps each a.m.

Qualifications

Requires completion from accredited Registered Nurse program of nursing, must maintain current Idaho State Professional Nurse license.

Maintain current AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification, Bariatric sensitivity, and hospit! al and floor-specific mandatories.

Has frequent inter! action with physicians, nursing staff, other departments, patients and their families. Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to provide support and teaching to patients and their families.

Will follow assigned unit dress code and present a professional image.

The Charge position requires leadership abilities and knowledge of dealing with staffing issues. Ability to deal with varied types of patients and families in all situations that may arise. Support of programs, (New U, Joint Camp, Back Country), is a must.
