Specialty: Glycemic Management Service

Practice Scope: The Glycemic Management Service team is seeking a NP/CNS that is passionate about diabetes. The NP/CNS will provide direct patient care, assessing, diagnosing , and planning patient care including prescription of medical therapeutic and corrective measures, implementing interventions prescribed, and evaluating interventions to treat diabetes and diabetes related health problems. NP/CNS will provide coverage for both the inpatient Glycemic Management Service and the Outpatient Diabetes Clinic.

Location: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Practice model: Employment

Requirements:
1. Licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Nurse.

2. Currently licensed as an advanced practice professional nurse in Idaho with the designation of Nurse Practitioner (APRN-NP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN-CNS).

3. Healthcare provider BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire date.

4. Experience in diabetes management or chronic care management preferred.

5. Comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities.

6. Demonstrated ability to integrate research into practice, leadership and consultation skills.

7. Must be flexible and able to work as part of a collaborative team.

Work Schedule: PRN. Likely schedule will be 20 hours per week with one 10-hour outpatient clinic day and one inpatient day per week. The schedule will be flexible.

Saint Alphonsus diabetes service seeks a nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist with previous diabetes experience and a passion for diabetes care and education. The successful candidate will be an important part of a busy team, must be able to work at a fast pace, and be flexible in moving between inpatient and outpatient settings. This position has excellent potential for growth. Advanced Diabetes Certification is desirable, but not a required. Training will be provided in the assessment and evaluation of the patient’s overall diabetes management; prescribing appropriate medications and treatment for diabetes; and diabetes education.
