Our 40â"bed facility is designed s! olely for the provision of this specialized care. The facilityâs unique design fosters a comfortable and responsive environment for our patients. Patients need a caring, highlyâ"trained and supportive team to maximize recovery and regain independence.
Our Hospital provides advanced longâ"term acute care, including high observation/critical care, for patients who require time to heal from catastrophic injury or illness. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Operations and/or Nurse Manager, this position is responsible for the dayâ"toâ"day operations of the patient care units and other departments. Responds to personnel and process needs of the unit and other departments as needed. Manages urgent and emergency situations as they arise.
Facilitates communication and patient care needs intra/interd! epartmentally. Acts as nursing administrator on âoff shiftsâ in the absence of the DNO/Nurse Manager. Job duties include but not limited to: Clinical PracticeAssists with direct patient care, i.e. med pass, admission assessments, wound care, patient discharge process, and Admit/Discharge FIMS (when applicable) during high flow work times and as necessary.
Accepts patient assignments as needed.Ensures that all employees assigned to shift maintain competency to work within their own scope of practice.Maintains clinical expertise in order to be staff resource on supplies, equipment, policies/procedures, and processes on the nursing unit.Maintains all skills and competencies on RN job description.Addresses staff, physician, patient, and family concerns immediately and reports all problems or patient complaints to Nurse Manager/DNO. Initiates immediate steps to correct problems when appropriate.Able to assist with urgent and emergency situations, i.e., Code Blue and! Rapid Response.Leadership Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills i! n supervising, delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff and communicates with staff on shift to identify and address problems that may arise.Provides feedback and advice to Nurse Manager/DNO regarding unit happenings, workflow issues, possible process improvement projects, and trends in staff morale.Ensures availability of appropriate number of staff to provide quality patient care.Assists with managing nursing department impact on supply costs.
