Reports To : Vice President of Patient Care Services, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services and the Chairperson of Emergency/Trauma services, directs the management and operation of the Emergency Department and coordinates all the health care services required for an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to the care of the traumatically injured patient and other patients who are in need of emergency treatment. Serves as the trauma coordinator and represents St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with assistance from the Nursing Operations Director at the local, regional and State level. Requires frequent contact with other hospitals, Department Directors, physicians and the Nursing Operations Director.! Contact with clinical patient care staff, patients and families, Medical Staff, regional and state emergency services, health care facilities and government agencies is necessary. the incumbent must instill high value for professional nursing practice as a role model within the Patient Care Services Division and be hight visible to Department and medical Staff.

Education: Registered and licensed to practice in the state of Idaho. BSN or Bachelor of Science in a related field required. Six years' experience in speciality accepted in lieu of degree. Three to four years' experience in specialty required. RN III or equivalent required. Management experience preferred. Requires knowledge and skills in current nursing practice and a background and understanding of emergency services, certification in emergency nursing and membership in Emergency Nurse Association is preferred.
