Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) that is licensed or in the immediate process, and quali! fies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of Occupational Health/Community Wellness.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for overseeing the workers compensation program/injury coordination and partner with the facility Safety and Security Officer to ensure the safety and well-being of all patient, employees, physicians, and visitors, as well as the assets of the facility. The Occupational Health Nurse will also function as a designated liaison between the hospital and community employers to promote Health and Wellness programs offered by the hospital to ensure connectivity, execution and follow through on potential and defined opportunities for program development.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.!
Current CPR certification.
Certified Occupational Hea! lth Nurse (COHN) preferred
B.S. or equivalent in experience in Occupational Medicine preferred
3-5 years of professional occupational medicine experience in a hospital setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions. !
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Injury Management: Investigates work injuries, ensure injury related paperwork is completed thoroughly and within established time limits
Works with claims management organization to process workers compensation claims and provide other related information, inputs data for tracking and monitoring of injuries and conducts case management functions on employee injuries as appropriate.
Return-to-work: in conjunction with HR - coordinate activities and ensure proper paperwork and signatures are obtained for ongoing claims/case management.
Works with occupational medicine physicians to ensure coordinated thorough review of patient status and job requirements to ensure appropriate, safe return-to-work timeline within established policies and procedures.
