Description: West Valley Medical Center-Idaho is presently looking of RN CCU- Full Time Days right now, this position will be placed in Idaho. The CCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse reports directly to the unit Clinical Manager, and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nu! rsing process in accordance with physicians' orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.

Performs thorough assessments of the assigned critical care patients. Assessments include obtaining patient history, assessing body systems, outcomes of treatments and procedures performed, the psychosocial needs of the patient, and basic cardiovacular assessment with recognition of basic arrhythmia. Assessment of patient family needs during death and dying. Incorporates age specific factors in provision of care. Performs age specific nursing assessments, assesses age-specific safety issues (e.g., plans care with frequent breaks for elderly patients, implements appropriate skin care to maintain skin integrity) appropriately interprets dysrhythmias and age-specific responses, interprets patient data and age-specific hemodynamic responses.

Safely and effectively performs procedures and treatm! ents maintaining sterile and aseptic technique for assigned pa! tients, including but not limited to: interpretation of cardiac rhythms, safe effective medication administration, insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters, care and maintenance of the peripheral intravenous catheters, insertion of nasogastric tubes, care and maintenance of the nasogastric tubes, care and maintenance of gastric tubes, insertion of urological catheters, care and maintenance of urological catheters, care of surgical drains, perform surgical dressing changes, perform wound care, perform orthopedic traction and cast care.

Documents correctly all care and outcomes of care provided to the assigned patients in the medical record.

Qualifications

Graduate from School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

CurrentIdaho State Registered Nurse License.

2 Years CCU/Telemetry experience preferred.

Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR card.

Current ACLS & PALS Provider card required within 6 mon! ths of hire date.
