Function as 24-hour supervisor in a nursing/treatment unit of a state institution or facility.
Participates in multi-disciplinary staffings and coordinates nursing service activities with other health-related, therapeutic and support services.
Selects, develops, and evaluates staff.
Orients staff on institution/unit policies and procedures and schedules nursing staff to ensure 24-hour coverage.
Provides professional nursing care and determines need for and arranges professional consultations and delegates routine nursing care to subordinate staff.
Enforces standards of nursing practice and recommends unit and institution policies and procedures.
Ensure completion of required nursing records.
Counsels with relatives regarding patients' health, status, and care provided, and exp! lains risks and benefits of patient treatment regimes.
Current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in Idaho (required at the time of appointment).
Good knowledge of supervisory practices.
Experience assessing nursing practices for compliance with policies and procedures and recommending appropriate actions.
