Non-Clinical Case Manager - Registered Nurse II Specialist

Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive) The following specifications are required to successfully deliver the required service and support company objectives. The individualâ s focus is on identification and tracking of pre-deployment individual medical readiness (IMR) for service members (SM) who are not fully medically ready (FMR) and post-deployment care of the ill or injured SM.
Nursing and Case Management Specific:
- Reflects advanced specialized training, experience, and certification to plan and provide comprehensive nursing care IAW professional nursing standards.
- Uses judgment in assessing patient conditions, interprets guidelines, and modifies patient care plan/work limitations as necessary.
- Recognizes and determines proper action for medical and/or behavioral health emergencies, e.g., calls soldierâs unit, physician, or takes preplanned emergency measures.
- Evaluations and observation skills are relied upon by providers and soldiersâ units in developing and modifying treatment.
- Duties may require knowledge of special drugs.
- Represents the specialty to outsid e organizations.
- Responsible for formulating nursing and health care standards and policies, including developing and teaching new techniques or practices and establishing or revising criteria for nursing care (to include case management standard operating procedures).
- Collaborates and consults with a multidisciplinary team in planning, evaluating, coordinating and revising program and determines conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services.
- Responsible for a rolling total of 80-120 cases and averaging working on 50 cases per week.
Soldier Specific:
- The service member is the center of the team, with deployable medical adjudication being the goal of case management.
- Case management team is a part of an interdisciplinary team to include several players within unit and State/Territory commands (unit commander, medical readiness NCO, State Surgeonâs office, Health Servic es Specialistâs office, case manager).
- Attend PHA/SRP events as determined by the needs of the state and the individual units.
- Ensure those Soldiers whom are referred by a provider during a PHA or SRP event are followed up with by the case management team.
- Manage Soldierâs care from the identification of the condition to when the soldier is either: a) considered medically ready and/or b) Administratively separated from the military.
- Communicate with designated unit personnel to track compliance versus non-compliance.
- Report Medical Readiness to Commander or his/her designated representative.
Regulation Specific:
- Maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) standards.
- Follow the regulations and policies applicable to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment, to include the AR 40-501, and other applicable guidance.
- Maintain Soldier me dical records in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 40-66.
Technical Requirements Specific:
- Use of Military systems such MED-CHART to include eCase and HRR, MODS to include eProfile, PHAs, Health Care Portal, RCAS, and AHLTA for all documentation, soldier data information, and tracking purposes.
- Enters medical/clinical and administrative data and tracks throughput of cases from identification of the illness or injury to a return to duty status or board adjudication process.
- Maintain and follow up with automated referrals and reports as indicated in MEDCHART/eCase and MODS/eProfile to include after PHA/SRP events.
- Ensure all Soldiers with temporary profiles are case managed in the eCase module.
- Log in eCase any contact with SM (email, voice call, or personal interview).
- Monitor MEDPROS to ensure all scheduled services are completed/updated and current medical status is reflected.
- The Office of the Chief Surgeon uses the information the CM team enters into the MODS and MED-CHART systems to monitor and track the total ARNG medical readiness.
- Ability to complete all required AT LEVEL 1 training.

Education:
- Licensure (or eligible for licensure) as an RN in the state of Idaho and be in good standing with the state Board of Nursing.
- Maintains appropriate licensure and credentials Basic Life Support.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Working knowledge of Military dynamics and organizational management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and have a working knowledge of desktop compute r operations.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task between service member in person, phone calls, emails, meetings, soldier data look up, and multiple military charting systems.
Certifications:
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Idaho and be in good standing with the state Board of Nursing.
- Maintains appropriate licensure and credentials Basic Life Support (BLS).
