Location: Sandpoint, Idaho

This announcement will be used to fill a full-time opening in our Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program.

NFP nurses provide comprehensive home visiting services to eligible pregnant women and their families. A Bache lor of Science in Nursing is required.

Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical nursing practice, adherence to the NFP model, the NFP Visit-to-Visit Guidelines and to the policies and procedures of Panhandle Health District.

  • Participate in promoting public awareness of the NFP program.
  • Must be able to travel by air to Denver, CO, for required in-person education session.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evening hours, if necessary, based on clients’ needs.
  • Performs professional nursing including:
    • Caseload of clients in Bonner and Boundary counties.
    • Conducting home visits with eligible clients beginning in pregnancy until their children turn two years of age.
    • Assessing NFP clients in the areas of physical, emotional, social and environmental challenges .
    • Assisting NFP clients in establishing goals, provide education, support and referral sources.
    • Developing therapeutic relationships utilizing the concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing while respecting professional boundaries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418, in one of the following compact states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Wisconsin.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Strong assessment and communication skills
  • Prior experience in maternal-child health nursing and public health
  • Proficient computer skills and solid organizational skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills

Examination:
