Description: Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is presently looking of Pharmacy Tech 2 PRN right now, this career will be placed in Idaho. The technician II position requires interrelation/communication with Pharmacists, Pharmacy supportive personnel, nurses, physicians, volunteers, medical students, parents, visitors, pati! ent’s families, hospital personnel in committees, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and sales representatives.

Sound professional judgment consistent with clinical/academic background and the hospital’s requirements is essential. Technician II enrolled in pharmacy school may do additional functions as allowed by state law for interns

Requires repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures and use of computer keyboard). Involves standing for long periods of time, stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers), walking up or down stairs, climbing ladders, walking to other areas of hospital, and use of elevators to move from one floor of the building to another, pushing or pulling a cart with heavy loads to deliver drugs and supplies. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying moderate loads up to 25 pounds, which include boxes, e! quipment, unit-dose cassettes, IV solutions, and equipment. Re! quires normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate and must be physically able to operate the equipment used in the job.

Qualifications

Education and licensing:
Registered through the Idaho Board of Pharmacy required. Completion of Pharmacy Technician Program or Equivalent.

Nationally Certified as Pharmacy Technician, with 1 year experience as hospital pharmacy technician or enrolled in professional year 2 or 3 of pharmacy school.

Age: 18 years of age or older.

Experience: Two years experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge needed for the job includes inventory control, quality management principles, and medical terminology.
